Summary
The middle school assistant athletic director is responsible for overseeing the duties and responsibilities of the Maryville R-II Athletics program as they relate to Maryville Middle School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities of Athletic Director:
- Assist in the proper supervision of MMS contests.
- Serve as a point of contact for game day officials and visiting coaches/teams.
- Ensure game day equipment is contest-ready.
- Ensure student athletes have the equipment/uniforms necessary for contests.
- Act as “Administrator on Duty” for an average of 10 events per season (fall, winter, spring)
- Serve as a liaison between coaches of 7th and 8th grade sport teams, administration, and district transportation for game day transportation.
- Helps maintain accurate school records (rosters, physicals, etc.)
- Promotes student participation.
- Keeps administrative staff members (AD, principals, superintendent) fully informed regarding the athletics and activities program.
- Perform other duties as assigned and/or prescribed by the Maryville R-II School District policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Prior experience as district "Administrator on Duty”, coaching, or sponsorship is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Missouri DESE certification.
