Maryville Elementary is Looking for an Evening Custodian Sweeper!
Individuals in the role perform routine custodial activities to maintain our school and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly, and secure condition.
Position Details
Hours: 4.5 hours per day
Contract Length: 182 days per year
- 170 student instructional days
- 4 holidays
- 7 plannning days
- 1 extended day
Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date
Employment Status: Full-time (eligible for benefits)
Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.
Compensation & Experience Credit
2025-2026 Pay Scale
- Starting Pay (Step 0): $14.84/hour
- Experienced Pay (Step 10): $16.89/hour

New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.
- The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.
Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate <> Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. <> Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay
