POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide study hall monitoring and building support to students and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor study halls, including such activities as taking attendance, maintaining an appropriate environment, issuing passes and assisting students.
- Monitor hallways, restrooms, lunch areas and parking lots, as assigned, to help maintain appropriate student and visitor “traffic” on school property.
- Assist the building administration, as needed, with clerical tasks and other assigned duties.
- Assist other staff members by substituting for them or helping to complete projects.
- Maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain.
- Observe all safely and health regulations of the school district.
- Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
- Serve as a role model in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Substitute teaching license or Aide Permit.
- Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or HR Director and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all staff and to interact with staff, students and the public in a positive manner.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and to accept new and challenging tasks as they arise.
- Potential exposure to blood or other body fluids and tissue.
- Potential interaction with unruly children.
- Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, and kneel.
- Frequent requirement to lift, carry, push and pull various items; for example, books and supplies, up to 25 lbs.
