What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Analyst position at Marymount University and Careers?
JOB SUMMARY
Marymount University is looking for a support specialist to join the Information Technology Support team. This position will perform troubleshooting, repair, and installation, of all university faculty and staff computers (including classroom support) and provide support for all audio/visual equipment for the university. In addition, this position will provide IT helpdesk support for all university residents, commuters, and alumni students.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems for users of university/student computer software and hardware.
- Installs and maintains end-user workstations/laptops, printers, peripherals.
- Repairs faculty/staff/student computer hardware/software.
- Provides one on one end-user problem resolution over the phone.
- Responds/follows-up promptly to IT help desk ticket inquiries.
OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
- Trains users on system updates and Virus/Spyware Removal/Detection.
- Sets up and uses various A/V equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Associate’s degree (AA) or two-year equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
1 to 2 years of related experience. IT support (hardware and software) including helpdesk support, computer repair, and networking.
Licenses or Certifications
Required: HDI Desktop Support Technician certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Desirable: CompTia A , MSCA, ACMT, and/or ITIL
Financial Responsibility
No direct accountability for financial transactions.
Supervision
None.
Special Knowledge
Advanced knowledge of Windows OS, Mac OSX, Microsoft Office, hardware/software diagnostics and troubleshooting, virus/malware removal, remote access, networking basics; basic audio/visual equipment knowledge.
