Marymount School seeks a skilled and dynamic head teacher to lead a Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten homeroom in our Lower School. Lower School Head Teachers play a central role in nurturing students’ academic skills, cultivating curiosity, and building a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy. They thoughtfully differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of young learners. Teachers also cultivate classroom communities in which every student feels known, valued, and inspired to learn. They are also responsible for fostering joyful classroom communities in which each student feels known, valued, and inspired to learn.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver a developmentally appropriate, academically rich curriculum integrating literacy, numeracy, social studies, and social-emotional learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet a range of developmental levels and learning styles within the classroom.
- Build a structured, warm classroom environment that supports independence, curiosity, executive functioning, and positive relationships.
- Communicate student progress through written reports, family conferences, and regular updates.
- Actively support enrollment by engaging prospective families warmly during school tours, open houses, and admissions events.
- Supervisory duties and responsibilities as requested by divisional head.
- A master’s degree in elementary education or a related field
- Experience teaching in early childhood or elementary school
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered, inquiry-based pedagogy
- A commitment to equity and belonging in teaching practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
