Maryland Plastic Surgery & PURE MedSpa at The Aesthetic Institute is seeking an exceptional Per Diem Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our elite surgical team. About the Role
The OR RN will support our plastic surgery operating room every Tuesday, assisting with a variety of cosmetic surgical procedures, including facelifts, breast surgery, body contouring, liposuction, and minimally invasive procedures. You will work alongside our board-certified plastic surgeons, anesthesiology team, and clinical staff to ensure each patient receives safe, seamless, and compassionate care from pre-op through recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care throughout the perioperative process, including pre-operative assessment, intraoperative support, and post-operative recovery.
- Prepare the operating room, instruments, and equipment according to procedure-specific needs.
- Maintain sterile technique and uphold all surgical safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staff to ensure optimal workflow.
- Monitor patient status and advocate for patient safety at all times.
- Document all care in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
- Provide patient education and support before and after surgery.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and patient-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Maryland (required).
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience (required).
Plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery experience strongly preferred.
- Current BLS certification (required); ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique, surgical workflows, and perioperative protocols.
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, high-performing surgical team.
