Job Title: Grant Writer

Job Summary
The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our programs and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to communicate the organization’s mission and impact effectively to potential funders. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple grant submissions and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Research and Identification: Identify and research prospective grant opportunities from government, corporate, foundation, and other sources that align with the nonprofit’s mission and programs.
Proposal Development: Write, edit, and prepare high-quality grant proposals, letters of intent, and other related documents that effectively communicate the organization’s needs, goals, and impact.
Collaboration: Work closely with program staff, finance team, and leadership to gather the necessary information for grant proposals, including program data, budgets, and other supporting materials.
Grant Submission: Manage the grant submission process, ensuring that all required documents are completed, reviewed, and submitted on time.
Grant Management: Monitor and track the status of submitted grants, including follow-ups with funders and reporting requirements. Maintain accurate records of proposals, submissions, and outcomes.
Reporting and Compliance: Assist in preparing grant reports and ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including timely reporting and communication with funders.
Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders to enhance long-term funding potential.
Database Management: Maintain an organized system for tracking grant opportunities, submission deadlines, and reporting schedules using grant management software or databases.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a grant writer, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify and assess funding opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and grant management best practices.
- Passion for the nonprofit’s mission and a commitment to making a difference.
- English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the specific mission area of the nonprofit.
- Experience in donor cultivation and relationship management.
