Field Operations Manager | Residential Waterproofing, Mold Remediation & Foundation Repair
Maryland Mold and Waterproofing is hiring a Field Operations Manager to lead daily field execution across our residential mold remediation, basement waterproofing, crawlspace encapsulation, and structural repair jobs.
This is a hands-on field leadership role for someone who knows how to get the crews out the door prepared, keep jobs moving, hold workmanship standards, communicate professionally with homeowners, and close projects without loose ends.
You will not be sitting behind a desk all day. You will be in the shop, on job sites, inspecting work, solving field problems, and making sure crews have the materials, information, and accountability needed to perform.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Location: Odenton, MD, with daily travel to residential jobsites
Reports to: Director of Operations and Ownership
What You Will Own:
Field Operations & Dispatch
- Turn approved scopes, drawings, and proposal notes into clear, crew-ready work plans
- Review daily work orders before dispatch and make sure crews understand the scope
- Coordinate crew assignments with the Office Manager and Director of Operations
- Serve as the first call for crew-level issues during active jobs
- Confirm job readiness, access, customer expectations, and production constraints before crews arrive
- Serve as the primary field contact for homeowners during active production, while escalating scope changes, pricing questions, or sales issues to management
Materials, Equipment & Inventory
- Stage job materials in advance so crews leave prepared
- Maintain organized stock across shop, trucks, and storage areas
- Track material usage, shortages, returns, and overages
- Help improve standard material lists and job packages by service line
- Flag inventory issues before they delay jobs
Quality Control
- Inspect completed work before customer sign-off as needed
- Personally inspect structural repair, large mold remediation, waterproofing, and high-risk jobs until crew leads demonstrate consistent self-inspection quality
- Identify and resolve punch-list items before job closeout
- Enforce MMW workmanship, cleanliness, documentation, and safety standards
- Reduce callbacks, rework, wasted trips, and incomplete closeouts
Field-Level Cost Discipline
- Track labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor usage at the field level
- Report cost issues, wasted material, missing material, and labor overruns early
- Help the office keep job costing accurate by making sure field information is complete and timely
- Protect gross margin through better planning, cleaner execution, and fewer callbacks
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain safe jobsite standards across active projects
- Enforce PPE, dust control, containment, ladder safety, equipment handling, and jobsite cleanliness standards
This Role Is a Fit If You:
- Have led crews in residential restoration, waterproofing, mold remediation, foundation repair, remodeling, crawlspace, or another hands-on specialty trade

Requirements:
- 5 years of hands-on experience in residential restoration, waterproofing, mold remediation, foundation/structural repair, remodeling, or a closely related specialty trade
- 2 years leading crews, supervising field work, or coordinating multiple residential jobsites
- Strong organization, follow-through, and communication skills
- Comfort working inside occupied customer homes
- Physical ability to access crawlspaces, basements, and attics as needed for inspections
- Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable for company vehicle insurance
- Must comply with MMW’s drug-free workplace, safety, and no-impairment policies
Strongly Preferred:
- Direct experience in mold remediation, basement waterproofing, crawlspace encapsulation, or foundation/structural repair
- Experience with carbon fiber straps, push piers, helical piles, sister joists, sump systems, drainage systems, or crawlspace encapsulation
- IICRC certifications such as WRT or AMRT, or willingness to obtain them
- Experience tracking labor, materials, and job costs
Compensation:
Target annual compensation up to $95,000 which includes:
- Base salary (based on experience, service-line depth, and demonstrated leadership track record)
- Quarterly KPI bonus
Quarterly KPI bonus targets are based on callback rate and on-time job completion. Targets and measurement are defined in writing during the interview process.
