Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Medical Call Center Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inbound and outbound calls to assist patients with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and answering general inquiries. You will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive prompt and effective communication while providing high-quality service. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, empathy, and experience working in a medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle incoming calls from patients, medical offices, and other healthcare providers in a professional manner.
Schedule patient appointments and make reminder calls to confirm scheduled visits.
Address inquiries related to services, appointment availability, insurance coverage, and payment information.
Verify patient demographics and insurance information accurately in the system.
Provide patients with information on office policies, hours, and basic requirements.
Manage rescheduling or cancellations of appointments, ensuring patient needs are met.
Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines and company procedures.
Assist with patient registration and updating of records when required.
Handle difficult or distressed patients with empathy, ensuring they receive the best possible support.
Perform data entry and manage electronic medical records efficiently.
Escalate complex issues to appropriate departments when necessary.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or medical office certification preferred.
Prior experience working in a medical call center or healthcare environment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
Ability to handle a high volume of calls and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to show empathy and patience.
Bilingual candidates are preferred (if applicable).
