MD Energy is a rapidly growing energy management company that serves some of the area’s largest businesses, including real estate owners, restaurants, and manufacturers. We provide consulting services for utilities across the United States, and we are looking for customer centric individuals to join our team. 

 

As a Plumbing and Electrification Specialist, you will support Baltimore Gas & Electric’s (BGE) Residential Midstream HPWH program. This program will continue to incentivize the purchase of energy-efficient HPWH equipment that conforms to high efficiency performance standards. Under the midstream program structure, energy savings are achieved through the delivery of high efficiency HPWH and HVAC measures via direct engagement with contractors and distributors.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet with Distributors and Contractors (Participating and Non-Participating) to educate them on the rebates available through the EmPower MD program
  • Educate contractors and installers about the benefits of HPWH energy-efficient technology and provide information on how the said equipment may differ from non-efficient equipment 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Midstream Online Intake Tool (OIT) and Sightline systems, know how rebate applications are processed, and how distributors and contractors use them.
  • Ability to train and answer questions contractors have in completing the application process, identify pain points and offer suggestions on how to improve efficiency 
  • Support the processing of HPWH rebate applications when needed in a thorough, accurate and efficient manner to enable distributors and contractors to receive the rebates in a timely manner 
  • Attend various events, such as distributor counter days, trade shows, community events etc. to support the program.
  • Coordination of service providers, contractors, property managers, and other entities to facilitate the processing of multifamily projects
  • Attend ICF, Utility and Manufacturer meetings for feedback on program enhancements, challenges, and overall program design improvements
  • Attend HPWH industry events or conferences to enhance awareness of new technologies and industry trends
  • Other Duties as assigned based on business needs

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Plumbers License or experience as a plumber’s assistant
  • Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred but at a minimum a High School Diploma
  • Certified Energy Manager, LEED, and other industry certifications are a plus. 
  • Prior customer outreach or customer service experience
  • Ability to travel within the Baltimore Metro, MD, and surrounding area. Must have a current, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of motor vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Outstanding people skills. Demonstrated ability to connect quickly with others and work effectively at all levels within and outside of the organization, including vendors and business partners.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage deadlines and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in time-critical situations and be productive and initiative-taking during slow periods.
  • Flexibility to support various programs for various periods of time.
  • Intermediate experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access is essential.
  • Advanced conflict resolution skills are required for this position.
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license, proof of motor vehicle insurance and reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the BGE, Pepco and DPL service territories.

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
