The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Nature of Work: The Fiscal Accounts Technician II is responsible for processing payments incurred by the MDTA for all eight toll facilities in a timely manner and effectively communicating payment information to both internal and external customers. The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Audit employee expense reimbursement requests;
- Initiate and monitor the approval process for invoices received directly in the Finance Division without authorized approval;
- Record budget charge codes and vendor ID information on invoices in preparation for payment processing in Microsoft Dynamics;
- Research payment correspondence from both internal and external customers;
- Retrieve approval documents from automated procurement system and match invoices for payment;
- Review invoices and purchase documents to ensure authorized approval signatures and proper budget coding have been included on invoices;
- Process both check and electronic payments;
- Ensure work is in compliance with laws, codes, and policies;
- Review monthly reports and reconcile monthly check activity for period close processing; and
- Process Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) requisitions.
The incumbent in this position will report to the Fiscal Accounts Technician Supervisor. The current opportunity exists in Baltimore, MD. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies throughout the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA). Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.
