Key responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk-based audit plan for MDOT TSO and supporting the rail transit safety oversight strategy.
Establishing and maintaining standardized audit methodologies aligned with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) International Professional Practices Framework.
Overseeing investigations of fraud, waste, and abuse, including those received via hotlines or anonymous sources.
Managing professional staff, consultants, and associated contracts.
Coordinating with federal, state, and local stakeholders regarding audit, compliance, and oversight activities.
Overseeing the implementation of the Maryland Rail Safety Oversight Program Standard and associated items required under Federal Transit Administration regulation, Maryland law, and the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR)
