What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications and Corporate Relations Intern position at MARYLAND AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE FUND?
Maryland Auto Insurance seeks candidates to fill a part-time, contractual role in our Internship Program within the Communications Department. The Communications and Corporate Relations Intern supports the planning and execution of the organization’s communication strategy.
This is a part time position with a maximum of 29 hours per week for 8 weeks this summer starting June 8, 2026. This position is hybrid with both virtual and in office work. The candidate will be required to come into the office a minimum of once per week. Wednesday(s) will be a required in office day for educational lunch and learn sessions.
Essential Functions:
- Support in the execution of communication strategies for key audiences; tactics to include:
- Development of blog posts and advertorial content
- Participation in community outreach events
- Development of content for earned media
- Content development for consumer and internal websites
- Assisting in the coordination and executive of Community Outreach events
- Social media strategy planning, content development, and posting
- Participating in reporting meetings with internal partners and digital advertising agency
- Compiling media campaign and social media analytics for monthly reporting
Competencies:
- Possess the ability to write with clarity, confidence, and in a professional tone.
- Graphic design or video editing skills a plus but not required.
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated and task-oriented
- Excellent grammar, typing and computer skills
Education & Experience:
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or another related field.
