We are seeking an Insurance and Financial Services Sales Representative to join our team! Are you outgoing and customer-focused? Do you enjoy working with the public? If you answered yes, then working for a local State Farm Agent may be a good fit for you!
State Farm Agents only market State Farm Insurance and Financial Service Products. This position is with a State Farm Independent Contractor Agent, not with State Farm Insurance Companies. Employees of State Farm Agents must be able to successfully complete any applicable licensing requirements, training programs, and compliance training. Employees of State Farm Agents must also have applicable Kansas Insurance Licenses, or must be able to complete and obtain applicable licenses in the State of Kansas to market Property & Casualty Insurance and Life & Health Insurance. Financial Services do not require licensure, but they do have applicable product and compliance training.
Responsibilities include:
Be enthusiastic about the role of insurance and financial services products play in helping people "manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams".
Market to and develop prospect leads, schedule in-office appointments, schedule telephone appointments, conduct appointments with customers, identify customer needs, and market appropriate insurance products and financial services products in a needs based environment. Set follow-up appointments, educate and remind new and existing customers of electronic capabilities available (i.e State Farm Mobile Apps). Assist customers in registering for their statefarm.com account online.
Establish a professional rapport and relationship with new prospects and existing State Farm Customers.
Provide, prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service.
Service responsibilities may include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverage’s, complete policy changes, complete transfer of out of state customers who have relocated to Kansas, accept claims, accept payments, and offer billing clarification.
Ability to use a customer-focused, needs based review process to educate existing customers and potential customers about insurance and financial services options that are or may be available to them to fit their needs.
Always act in a professional, honest and ethical manner.
Selected candidate is also expected to remain current in product changes, licensing, technical developments, and continuing education. Courses on ethical and client centered selling sales practices are required. Other compliance courses must be completed annually thereafter.
Preferred Experience:
Prior marketing and/or sales experience preferred (outside sales, inside sales, retail sales, fundraising, or telemarketing).
Prior insurance or banking experience is a plus.
Ability to adjust to change. Ability to handle multiple tasks at once. Requires good organizational skills. Detail oriented personality.
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and listening.
Experience with a variety of computer programs, particularly Windows, Outlook, and/or relationship marketing software.
Maintain a strong work ethic with a total commitment to success each and every day.
Must have applicable insurance licenses or must be willing to obtain the applicable licensing requirements. (Property/Casualty License in Kansas), (Life/Health License in Kansas), (Notary Public in Kansas). See the Kansas Insurance Department for the requirements for both licenses and the Secretary of State for Notary Public requirements.
Licensing for the first time requires a background check, fingerprinting, and monitored license exams.
If already licensed, a background check is still required.

Full-Time, Hourly Pay, No Commissions
Office Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with one hour lunch break.
Weekends and Certain Paid Holidays Off (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (except when falls on a weekend day), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day).
