We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Infant Room Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Must be passionate about working with infants, committed to providing high-quality care, and eager to support children's growth and development in a safe, loving, and engaging environment.
Position Summary
The Infant Room Assistant Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to provide nurturing care and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months. This position requires patience, flexibility, strong communication skills, and a genuine love for helping children reach important developmental milestones.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for infants.
- Support daily care routines, including feeding, diapering, handwashing, and nap schedules.
- Engage infants in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Maintain constant supervision and ensure the safety of all children at all times.
- Follow all childcare licensing regulations, center policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Assist with classroom cleaning, sanitizing, and organization throughout the day.
- Observe and document children's development and daily activities as directed.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child's day.
- Support smooth classroom transitions and daily routines.
- Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with opening and closing classroom duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and screenings.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and frequently bend, stoop, sit on the floor, and carry infants.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with infants or young children.
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
Pay: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
