Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support early childhood education standards and promote curiosity, creativity, and social skills.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior guidance techniques.
- Provide attentive care to children, including infant care, toddler care, and preschool activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and utilizing specialized techniques such as those used in special education.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks; administer first aid when necessary; maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the classroom.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, including snack times, nap schedules, and transitions between activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, caregiving best practices, behavior management, and inclusive education strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental assessments, incident reports, and other documentation required for compliance and quality assurance.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance curriculum effectiveness and classroom environment.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in preschool settings or daycare environments is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education methodologies.
- Experience with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement.
- Familiarity with caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting that involve nurturing infants to toddlers is highly valued.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups of children, including those requiring additional support or accommodations.
