Description
Position Summary -
We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to support our HR team by auditing employment records, including I-9 forms, personnel files, and compliance documentation. This internship offers hands-on experience in HR compliance, document management, and regulatory best practices. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and eager to learn about HR operations within a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and audit I-9 employment eligibility forms for accuracy and compliance with federal regulations.
- Identify and correct discrepancies in employee records and maintain proper documentation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws, including retention and verification processes.
- Organize and update personnel files, ensuring confidential and secure handling of records.
- Assist with E-Verify processes, as applicable.
- Support HR with internal audits and help prepare reports on findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the HR team to develop best practices for maintaining accurate employee documentation.
- Assist with other HR administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (preferred but not required).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HRIS systems (a plus).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
