Teacher Assistant
The teacher assistant will work with the classroom teacher and is accountable to the principal of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School. The teacher assistant must be patient, organized and able to physically perform the duties of the job. He/She will demonstrate a love of children and a love of learning. A high school diploma is required along with experience in child growth and development.
The Teacher Assistant will:
- Be an example of the Gospel message
- Exhibit a love of children, patience and understanding
- Keep school matters regarding students confidential
- Help maintain a safe and learning atmosphere in the classroom
- Help in the efficient management of the classroom
- Follow the policies of the Diocese of Lexington and Mary Queen School
- Comply with the rules, regulations and guidelines of the faculty handbook
- Help maintain the rules, regulations and guidelines of the school handbook
- Assist in providing one-on-one student interaction for remediation or enrichment
- Manage small group activities planned by the classroom teacher
- Administer tests designed by the teacher for specific skills
- Gather materials for classroom projects
- Aid the classroom teacher in large group work for more effective instruction
- Comply with all duties in the school as assigned by the principal or classroom teacher
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
