Position Responsibilities
-
Unit Specific Position Responsibilities- Facilitates transitions between healthcare settings to provide continuity of care.
- Care of devices and equipment secondary to surgical procedures.
- Assesses and anticipates patient needs for pain management to ensure acceptable pain management plan in place for discharge.
- Prevention of Surgical Site Infections through postoperative care processes.

Under direction from the Manager, the nurse may be assigned the role of Lead Nurse responsibilities for the shift utilizing the Lead policy for more details.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
-
Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):
-
Licensed as a Registered Nurse and authorized by the State of Iowa to practice nursing or has active multistate license approved by the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Achievement of Baccalaureate degree in nursing within 6 years of hire if hired after January 1, 2014.

Basic Life Support (BLS) training, or within 90 days of hire and must maintain throughout employment.

Mandatory Reporter training or within 90 days of hire and must maintain throughout employment.

Organizational Requirements:

Maintain stroke education per regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:-
Baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Professional certification in nursing specialty.

Proficient in communication skills.
