The EC Preschool Evaluation Team Facilitator, works under general supervision, performs professional work related to identification and provision of special education services for children ages 3 through 5.

Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Serve as a member of the evidence-based evaluation team supporting assessment of 3–5-year-olds 12 months of the year
- Serve as a required member of the assessment team that supports completion of Child Find tasks as required by Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) throughout the calendar year
- Assist with compliance of the evaluation of preschoolers prior to their third birthday as required by IDEA
- Support completion of assessment, eligibility, and placement tasks within 90 days of referral as required by IDEA
- Recommend developmental goals and services for IEP development, including goal integration, frequency and duration of services, and supplemental supports to support students’ skills in the educational environment
- Supports district execution and compliance with Indicator 7,11 and 12 of the NCDPI Exceptional Children Annual Plan
- Provide accommodations and modifications to preschool students served per the IEP
- Identify, plan, and deliver specially designed instruction for preschool students
- Collect data regarding preschool students’ use of accommodations and modifications to use to determine the need for accommodations and modifications at IEP meetings
- Support Monitoring of Developmental Day Program
- Maintain documentation of services/ accommodations/modifications provided that can be shared with administrators and the EC Department when needed
- Gather/review academic and behavior progress monitoring data to inform decisions and ensure instructional delivery
- Utilize resources (i.e. EC website, email updates, ) to be aware of current policies/practices
- Plan, organize, and design instruction and instructional environments individual and groups of students to include the service delivery model most appropriate for each IEP
- Coordinate special educations services with other school personnel through collaboration with general education teachers, school psychologists, related service providers and others to determine interdisciplinary responsibilities
- Meet with related school personnel, families, and relevant agencies to develop and revise IEPs for identified students throughout the calendar year
- Maintain documentation of all services provided, including but not limited to daily documentation notes of services rendered, records of students screened and evaluated, and quarterly progress reports for students served
- Provide information to teachers, parents, and others in the community about special education services and early childhood development
- Remain current on research based instructional best practices (curriculum, strategies, assessments, data, etc.).

- Extensive knowledge of research-based strategies, methodologies, philosophies, and curriculums for students who access both the Standard Course of Study Curriculum (NC Foundations) and Extended Content Standard curriculum.
- Coaching and consultation with school personnel to support specially designed instruction, specific interventions, data collection, modeling, and progress monitoring.
- Collaboration and problem-solving skills to address students with unique needs with school administrators, general education teachers, EC staff, and related services personnel.
- Design and deliver high-quality professional development sessions tailored to specialized groups as well as all school staff, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
- Effectively manage schedules and prioritize tasks across multiple school sites to ensure timely and consistent support for staff and students.

Education Experience
- Must meet all minimum State requirements for certification in Birth-K Licensure
- Must meet certification requirements in content areas as required by the State
- At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred
Special Requirements
- Birth-K licensure or Pre-K add on required
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
- Ability to support wrap around childcare program when needed
Physical Requirements
- This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
- Work regularly requires standing and speaking or hearing, frequently requires walking, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires
