Marwood Group is a leading healthcare advisory and research firm headquartered in New York City, with offices in Washington, D.C., and London. Our Performance Improvement (PI) Practice partners with institutional investors and healthcare organizations to drive value creation and strategic transformation initiatives across the healthcare ecosystem, including revenue optimization, operational excellence, and corporate development support.
We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our PI Practice as an Associate or Senior Associate. This role is ideal for a highly organized, strong analytical and strategic thinker with a deep operational healthcare expertise and a keen interest in private equity value creation, large-scale transformation, and performance improvement methods.
As an Associate / Senior Associate you will play a critical role driving execution across complex client engagements supporting both private equity sponsors and corporate clients across the healthcare ecosystem. You will be responsible for advising on acquisition diligence and integration, identifying, and executing against value creation and performance improvement opportunities, and delivering measurable results. You will also serve as an analytical leader within the team, take ownership over material workstreams or project phases, and manage working-level client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery
- Design and execute complex analyses, directing delegated tasks as appropriate.
- Develop compelling presentations and effectively communicate findings.
- Build and maintain working-level client relationships, earning trust through reliable delivery, tactical problem-solving, and demonstrated alignment to client priorities.
- Leverage understanding across functions (e.g., RCM, IT, ops, finance) to draw meaningful conclusions, identify client risks/opportunities, and drive superior results.
Practice Enablement
- Own select workstreams or phases within larger engagements (e.g., due diligence components, operational assessments, integration planning), coordinating cross-functional project execution, managing client needs, timelines, and utilization targets.
- Manage complex project interdependencies and demonstrate strategic thinking to address risks and deliver measurable client impact (e.g., EBITDA, cash acceleration)
- Ensure quality control for all work products, delivering on time and to firm standards.
- Develop tools and methodologies to standardize and enhance service offerings.
- Mentor junior consultants, contribute to recruiting, help shape training programs.
- Support BD proposal development, including developing follow-on opportunities.
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of professional experience in healthcare consulting, operations, or analytics
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex team efforts in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare finance, operations, and industry landscape
- Excellent communication skills, including PowerPoint proficiency.
- Expertise in Excel modeling and data visualization
- Experience in financial modeling, claims and clinical data analysis preferred.
- Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MHA)
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

The position is located in our New York Office, currently a hybrid work environment (3 days on site, 2 days remote work) Business travel is typically not a major element of the role, unless desired by the candidate.

Salary : $100,000 - $145,000
