Summary
A Cashier associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through timely and accurate transaction processing. They greet customers, scan merchandise, process sales, refunds and exchanges, and maintain a positive atmosphere by thanking customers upon departure. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Greet customers promptly and create a welcoming experience.
2. Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit cards, and checks.
3. Verify merchandise quantities, descriptions, and prices to ensure accuracy.
4. Handle returns and exchanges while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
5. Answer phone calls professionally and assist with commercial accounts and credit applications.
6. Maintain organized paperwork, including filing and storage, according to established procedures.
7. Direct customers to products and provide assistance when needed.
8. Promote a clean store environment.

Requirements:
A successful Cashier Associate must consistently demonstrate Marvins Building Materials' Mission and Values. They must possess good oral and written communication skills, be customer service-oriented, team-oriented, and have excellent organizational skills. Additionally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. This is an hourly position with no guarantees for career progression.
