The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained “A Tradition of Excellence”, serving as a trusted source for our unwavering commitment to supporting all branches of the Department of Defense and our global allies. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.
SCOPE
Responsible for Engineering product development with emphasis on accelerating the development cycle and transition into production. Successfully deliver results to customers to achieve program delivery and performance requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan project schedules including required resources and implement by deadline
- Communicate with internal/external customers and work with functional areas such as Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure customer needs are addressed and targets are met
- Responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements
- Facilitate the process of ensuring that all customer requests/questions are addressed in a timely manner
- Liaison with suppliers and sub-contractors
- Evaluate and develop technical proposals, reports and presentations
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or applicable equivalent experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- 3-7 years’ experience in defense, engineering/manufacturing and product development
- Familiar with manufacturing environment including project management, customer interaction, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Able to perform a variety of complex tasks with a degree of creativity and latitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Experience with MRP/ERP software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player, motivated to achieve program goals
- Able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree specifically in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Experience with SAP ERP
- Exposure to continous improvement initiatives within manufacturing
