CNC Machinist - III

Job description:

Marvel Manufacturing is a growing precision CNC machine shop located in Lewiston, ID. Our mission is serving people—not just making parts (“People First, Parts Included”). We specialize in multi-axis turning, Swiss machining, milling, and 5-axis machining, with a focus on medium-volume production of small- to medium-sized parts.

This position is essential to expanding Marvel Manufacturing’s capacity to serve current customers and attract new ones. It is a unique opportunity for an experienced machinist to apply their skills in a growing small-shop environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, including 5-axis machines and dual-spindle lathes with live tooling
• Program and edit parts using Fusion 360
• Inspect parts to ensure they meet tolerance requirements and customer specifications
• Saw and prepare raw material
• Read blueprints and interpret GD&T
• Maintain a safe working environment
• Maintain clean machines and work areas
• Deburr parts
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Clean and package parts for shipping
• Train team members and mentor apprentices

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a Machine Technology Program or Machinist Apprenticeship preferred
• Proficiency in operating CNC machine tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong understanding of GD&T
• Understanding of advanced machining principles
• Proficient basic math skills
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and related documentation
• Basic computer proficiency

Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of machining experience required
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machine tools
• Experience performing tool and work offsets to maintain tolerances
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts using precision measuring instruments
• Experience creating fixtures for setups
• CAM programming experience required (Fusion 360 preferred)
• 5-axis milling experience preferred
• Swiss lathe experience preferred

Pay: $26-$32 per hour (DOE)
