A NEW BROADWAY MUSICAL
A new musical by John Kunich based on the true story of Marva Collins, the visionary Chicago educator who transformed at-risk students into confident, inspired learners. Set in 1970s Chicago, with the soul, energy, and style of the era.
THE JOB
We're casting young Black performers to record music videos of Marva!'s top songs, used to pitch investors and secure a top-tier director/choreographer. Rehearsals will run August– September 2026 (10–12 sessions, 2–3 hrs each), with recording over two days in September 2026 (4–5 hrs/day), scheduled around cast availability. Rate: $2,750 per performer for rehearsals and recording of 8 music videos. Exact dates will be scheduled according to performer availability. All rehearsals and recordings will be in NYC.
SEEKING
Strong singers with dance and acting ability. (Think the ensembles of School of Rock and Matilda the Musical.)
- Young performers of color who can play ages 8–13 (performers may be older)
- Comfort with 1970s soul and gospel musical styles
