Job Description:
Safety Sensitive Staff Position - Due to the population we serve, and the need to maintain a safe work environment for our client workers, the employee in this position must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. The employee must also be able to concentrate for long periods of time.
General
Immediate supervisor: Store Manager
Position is not Direct Care staff
Available and willing to care for client’s physical, mental and/or emotional needs
- Has limited access to client records including all protected health information (PHI) and is subject to MARVA’s Workforce Confidentiality Agreement. Access is limited to that information necessary to adequately perform job duties
Part time position (24-28 hours per week), hourly pay, non-exempt
As scheduled-Monday through Saturday-8:00 am until 5:00 pm
- Expect to work 2-4 Saturdays per month
Pay begins at minimum wage

Adhere to all policies, procedures, and principles of MARVA Workshop
*Job requires individual to work in the store or preparation area as assigned by the store manager
Store
- Complete reports as requested by Client Services
- Assist customers as needed
- Operate cash register accurately
- Stock racks and shelves
- Make sure all items are priced
- Follow set procedures on personal checks and payments
- Keep store clean and orderly
- Keep checkout area clean and straight
- - Throw away broken or “junky” items
- - Size racks regularly.
- - Collect empty hangers
- - Straighten all shelves and racks (fold, arrange, etc.) as needed
- - Keep merchandise picked up off the floor
- - Re-hang & restock clothing left in dressing room, back rack and/or on floor
- - Dust shelves and racks
Preparation Area
- Assist customers with donations (unload, questions, receipts, etc.)
- Sort as per current procedure
- Tag/price/size as assigned
- Stock as per current procedure
- Ready to respond to requests for assistance from front or client workers
- Keep back area uncongested – designated walk area open
- Keep trash carried out
Sort Donated Clothing
- Sort clothing donated by the public (this is the primary need for this position)
- Sort items that are not clothing into separate buggies
- Sort out trash separately
Other
- Promote positive community and customer relationships
- Promote teamwork and a positive work environment
- Responsible for opening and/or closing office as arranged
- Work in any area needed to balance team
- Willing to perform other duties as assigned
