Store Merchandise Associate (Accounting Department)

We're immediately hiring associates for our Accounting Department. Experienced Accounting Assistants, Bookkeepers, and Data Entry Associates, are Needed!

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES in Accounting Department (Accounting Associates) (responsibilities include, but are not limited to)
Customer Service:
• Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions
• Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques
• Meets or exceeds Department's sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and procedures
• Maintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor
• Ensures a safe and clean work environment
• Cross Training:
• Store Support Associates exemplify teamwork and are open to and willing to be trained and step in when needed in all departments and similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment.
• Must be able to use job related equipment such as a stepping ladder, mop, and push carts
• No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred
• Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant, Bookkeeper, or Data Entry Clerk is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds without aid

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES in Accounting Department (Accounting Associates) (responsibilities include, but are not limited to)
- Opens and processes invoices for payment.
- Performs data entry on all transactions as directed by Store Manager.
- Updates and produces daily sales reports.
- Compiles and sorts accounting reports.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as credit card transactions.
- May reconcile credit card and bank statements.
- Conducts cash audits.
- Provides accounting support to Store Manager and Assistant Manager
- Works various shifts, days or nights as assigned by Store Manager in accordance with the Company's business needs.
- Ability to use Company's POS/Price Control System to match, update or change invoices.
- Must be able to do light lifting, stooping, bending and climbing.
- Must be knowledgeable of merchandise placement and location in store.
- Maintains good communication with store management, associates and outside contacts.
- Other job related tasks as assigned by supervisors, Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Must clean and sanitize work area
- Assist with ordering

- Must be able to operate pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, compactor and scrub machine
- Possess a food handling license or the ability to acquire one
