Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care (Full-Time)
Martinsville Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our busy, fast-paced urgent care clinic. This position is ideal for an NP who is confident in independent clinical decision-making, thrives in a high-volume environment, and values strong teamwork and supportive leadership.
Position Details
- Full-time: 36–40 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts on weekdays
- 8-hour shifts on weekends
- Every other weekend required
- Single-provider coverage with full clinical support staff
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
- Perform common urgent care procedures (laceration repair, splinting, abscess I&D, wound care, etc.)
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs and X-rays
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with evidence-based guidelines
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the EHR
- Collaborate with clinical and front-office staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care
- Provide excellent patient education and customer-focused care
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Virginia (or ability to obtain)
- National NP certification (AANP or ANCC)
- Urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable managing high patient volume
