Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on mechanical systems including transmissions, powertrain components, suspension, shocks & struts, brakes, and steering systems.
- Execute routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to ensure peak performance.
- Repair or replace diesel engines and heavy equipment mechanics components as needed, utilizing specialized knowledge of diesel engine repair.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts following manufacturer specifications.
- Work with automotive electrical systems and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) to troubleshoot complex electronic issues.
- Read and interpret schematics for mechanical systems repair and auto body repairs to ensure precise work execution.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating tasks accurately, and communicate clearly with customers about repairs needed or performed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations while providing excellent customer service throughout the repair process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems repair.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus.
- Knowledge of ADAS technology, air brake systems, transmissions, suspension components, and powertrain systems.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive maintenance tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacements effectively.
- Experience working with diesel mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
