What are the responsibilities and job description for the GENERAL MANAGER GM position at Martins Restaurant Systems Inc?
Martin’s Restaurants is a growing company that has been in business in the metro Atlanta area for 60 years. We are made up of 20 Quick Serve Restaurants located across eight metro Atlanta counties, serving breakfast and lunch, and close each day at 3pm. As Martin’s continues to grow, we have openings for restaurant General Managers.
The General Manager controls costs within the restaurant and maintains adherence to policy and procedure. Produces fresh, high quality food, outstanding customer service, and maintains a clean restaurant. Plans, organizes, prioritizes, coordinates, and implements daily work schedules. Constantly strives to improve abilities, initiative, judgment, decisiveness, dependability, enthusiasm, personal integrity, and ability to learn from mistakes. Specific responsibilities include:
- Interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, developing staff
- Giving direction, delegating, problem solving, resolving conflicts
- Controlling cash and making deposits
- Ordering and managing inventory
- Responsible for operational/administrative paperwork such as: new hires, work schedules, checklists, daily sales reports, inventory reports, attendance records, grading tests, etc.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills and thorough knowledge of restaurant operations
- Ability to perform and train in all positions in the restaurant
- Ability to organize own workload and workload of others
- Show strong leadership qualities and maintain respect of team members, supervisors, and customers
- High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
- College degree or college classes in business and/or management related subjects preferred
Experience
- Successful track record as an assistant manager, or one year experience in a similar position of responsibility, or college degree if no restaurant or management experience
