Martines Underground specializes in fiber installation, water services, and excavation work. We’re a fast-growing underground construction company built on hard work, reliability, and respect on the job site. We are looking to add motivated, skilled operators who want steady work and a solid team.
We are seeking an experienced Directional Drill Operator to safely and efficiently operate horizontal directional drills and related equipment for underground utility projects. Candidates should be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate directional drilling equipment (Vermeer or similar) for fiber, water, or utility installations
- Read job plans, locate marks, and follow bore paths accurately
- Mix and monitor drilling fluids
- Track drill head and maintain proper bore depth/route
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot drill equipment
- Load/unload material, rods, and tooling
- Work with crew to install conduit, pull fiber, set vaults, and complete restoration
- Follow safety standards and company procedures at all times
- Communicate clearly with foreman and crew members
