SUMMARY
The District Sales Manager is responsible for providing sales and marketing leadership in all areas of the district through advice, direction and control. This position is responsible for the day to day operations of Route Sales in the assigned district, maintaining the highest level of customer service, growth in existing accounts, new account sales calls, continued training of Route Sales personnel, and other areas as directed by the Director of Route Sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for the overall sales in assigned district through new account solicitation, solicitation for space in in existing accounts and sales calls to store managers
- Insures promotions and in-store ads are fully implemented to achieve maximum sales volumes.
- Provides timely and accurate feedback to ensure performance in accordance with the marketing plan.
- Monitors and acts on weekly sales reports.
- Directly supervises route sales personnel in assigned district. Trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Ensures awareness of all company promotions to maximize sales in relevant accounts.
- Interviews Route Sales candidates along with Director of Route Sales and Director of Human Resources and makes recommendations regarding candidates.
- Handles customer complaints in a timely and in a professional manner.
- Works with the Director of Route Sales and Key Account Managers as directed to assist in store resets and space management issues.
- Accurately completes and submits all required documentation on a timely basis.
- Submits weekly activity reports to recap activities and bring attention to areas of concern.
- Maintains and acceptable driving record and maintains a DOT Medical Certification.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and;
- Five to seven years related experience and/or training or;
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
