The Speechwriter is a senior communications role partnering closely with executive leaders in the automotive industry. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping and advancing the narratives of executive leaders, translating complex business objectives into compelling and authentic messages that resonate across internal and external audiences.
The Speechwriter serves as a strategic advisor, brand steward, and trusted thought partner to leaders. You will be instrumental in crafting the voice, vision and key messages that drive our clients’ success.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Additional Information
Compensation Range: $127,700 - $166,000. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic communications counsel to executives, advising on messaging, narrative development, and alignment with business objectives and brand strategy.
- Ghostwrite high-impact executive communications, including speeches, keynotes, presentations, remarks, talking points, Q&A documents, executive briefings, and internal communications.
- Ensure consistency, authenticity, and excellence across all executive messaging while upholding brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Collaborate with design, communications, and creative partners to ensure written and visual content are seamlessly integrated.
- Build trusted relationships with C-suite leaders, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, offering informed perspectives and actionable solutions.
- Partner with external agencies and vendors to support integrated content strategies that amplify executive messaging.
- Represent the client at key internal and external events and conferences, providing on-site support for executive speaking engagements, Q&A preparation, and real-time message refinement.
- Maintain the highest quality standards across all deliverables, ensuring clarity, conciseness, and adherence to corporate style guidelines.
- Manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in executive speechwriting, executive communications, or strategic communications.
- Proven success writing for executive leaders and tailoring messages for a wide range of internal and external audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive internal and external communication strategies and plans that align with organizational objectives.
- Strong experience or deep knowledge of the automotive industry and its evolving landscape.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Strong strategic thinking and sound judgment, with confidence to challenge assumptions and propose innovative approaches.
- Executive presence, strong interpersonal skills, and comfort advising senior leadership.
- High emotional intelligence and political acumen within complex organizations.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with creative tools.
