What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist / Experienced Manufacturing Professional position at Martin Metal Works Inc?
Dennis R. Martin, Inc. is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual with machining experience or a strong background in a machine shop/manufacturing environment to join our team.
We are open to experienced machinists as well as candidates who have worked around machining and have a solid understanding of the manufacturing process. The right person should be comfortable working independently, reading drawings, using measuring equipment, and producing quality work.
Responsibilities may include:
- Setting up and operating manual and/or CNC machinery
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings
- Working from dimensions, tolerances, and job specifications
- Using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring tools
- Inspecting parts to ensure they meet specifications
- Performing basic machine setups and adjustments
- Troubleshooting machining or production issues
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Assisting with other shop and manufacturing duties as needed
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous machining, machine shop, or related manufacturing experience
- Understands basic machining principles and shop terminology
- Can accurately read a tape measure, decimals, and fractions
- Is comfortable reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Has good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Takes pride in producing accurate, quality work
- Is dependable and able to work with minimal supervision
- Is willing to learn our equipment, processes, and way of doing things
Experience with CNC equipment is a plus, but we encourage applicants with strong manual machining or related machine shop experience to apply as well.
Pay will be based on experience and skill level.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm
