This equipment ranges from small fractional horsepower motors to large medium voltage motors used to start mills and fans. Motors Motor control systems Control power circuits Transformers of various sizes Plant lighting DC drives Variable Frequency Drives Requirements Must be methodical in troubleshooting with Safety and confidence as a top priority. Must have an excellent safety record and exhibit good safety behaviors. 5 years industrial electrical experience required. Good knowledge of industrial electrical systems including medium and high voltage equipment. Ability to trouble shoot complex electrical and process problems. Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics. Installs, maintains, and repair starters, DC drives, AC drives, & VFDs Performs maintenance on both new and existing electrical equipment. Ability to run conduit, pull wires, repair or replace lights and fixtures. Perform ground and megger testing as well as understand the testing results. Ability to inspect, PM, and repair motors. Ability to provide clear and precise feedback on work done including repairs, PM, and inspections. Basic understanding of PLC’s Basic understanding of vibration analysis Provide leadership and assists in technical training. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Preferred Education and Experience 5+ years’ experience in cement or similar industrial environment such as mining, paper mills etc. 2-year technical degree in electrical or comparable experience preferred Comparable Military Training Certified / licensed Journeyman Electrician preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Must be willing to be on call. Working knowledge of high voltage electrical systems required Skilled in the use of hand tools, test instruments and electrical construction tools Experience with PLC’s a plus Outstanding vendor relations skills (internal and external contractors) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS A high degree of manual dexterity and accuracy required Must be able to use hand tools and electronic test equipment such as multi-meters and scopes Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds from ground to waist as required Visual acuity, speech & hearing, hand & eye coordination Walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, driving, and squatting for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours) Must use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required WORKING CONDITIONS Works in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, ice, rain, and in high humidity, and is required to work in all plant environments. The incumbent will be exposed to vibrating equipment and mechanical and electrical hazards and heights. .
