Job Description
Established Jenison, Michigan law firm with over 40 years of experience in bankruptcy and probate law, is looking to expand the practice with the addition of a part time paralegal.
The paralegal is to provide general legal support to the firm. Experience in the areas of the firm practice is recommended. This person must be well organized, flexible, enjoy the challenges of managing multiple projects at one time, and interacting with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
-Electronic filing with the courts
-Transcription & drafting of legal pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents with a high degree of accuracy
- Organize and track ongoing files to ensure deadlines are met
-Service of documents by mail
-Be comfortable interacting with clients, as well as scheduling court hearings and client meetings as needed
This person must:
- Have experience as a paralegal
- Strive for excellence in their work and be reliable
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills
- Skilled with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Experience with HotDocs and Best Case is encouraged but not required.
Job Type:
-Part time with potential opportunity to grow into a full-time position if employee shows initiative and mastery of position. Part-time hours can be flexible for employees with children in school.
Required Education:
-Associate’s Degree preferred but all candidates with related work experience will be considered
