Machine Operator

Description

Objective

This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process and insuring proper ingredients supplies are being used on the line.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance.
• This position is responsible for operating production machinery in the Poultry department.
• This position is responsible for tasks such as monitoring repack machines, making adjustments as needed, reporting any issues to the supervisor or lead and to fill out various log sheets.
• This position is required to follow all MPF’s safety rules and to complete necessary training.
• Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to Martin Preferred Foods (MPF) policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Position Pre-Requisites

• Bi-lingual a plus
• Basic Math, Reading, Writing Skills
• Basic Mechanical skills needed
• Must possess a certain amount of natural dexterity with hands
• Must be able to follow directions
• Must be able to handle heavy loads
• 2 year previous machine operating experience and/or mechanical/technical experience preferred
  
  

Requirements

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and to use hands and arms constantly. May be exposed to air borne particles, and a noise level loud enough to require hearing protection. This position will require walking, bending, standing, and lifting up to 80lbs on a frequent basis. Temperatures in the 40-degree F. to 45-degree F. range. Damp wet floors and air flow from refrigeration units. Noise level is high.
