What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transit Driver position at Martin County Transit?
Martin County has an opening for a Transit Driver. Work involves following route assignments to pick up riders, assisting riders into and out of the vehicle, securing persons in wheelchairs, enforcing seat belt usage, sanitizing, and washing buses. Pre-dawn and after dark work routes performed. Employee will work according to safety procedures, all traffic laws, and perform tasks under general supervision. Employee may be called upon in case of disaster, either man-made or natural, to serve the residents of Martin County in ways other than listed above. These other duties will take precedence over duties described in this job announcement.
Salary is $31,329 with paid insurance and benefits package.
Requirements - Be 21 years of age or older, High School gradurate or GED, be a citizen of the USA, pass the criminal background check, pass the drug and alcohol screening. Having a current North Carolina Commercial Driver's Licens with a P endorsement for passengers is perferred BUT NOT REQUIRED.
