Under the direction of the Public Information Officer, the Photographer / Editor – Digital Media Content Creator develops and/or manages external communications, messaging, marketing, branding and media relations. Working within the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the incumbent will utilize storytelling and leverage social media, video, photography, video editing and other digital communications to enhance the public perception of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, has strategic instincts, knows what’s trending in social media marketing and is motivated by creating impact through content creation and storytelling.

Supplemental Information
Removal can be with or without fault of the jobholder or the agency. Economic conditions that cause reductions in work force, the member's inability to regularly attend to work, chronic illness, and a failure to perform competently on any of the critical tasks of the position or a consistent failure to perform competently on regular tasks are among the major reasons for job removal without fault. Failure to support the agency's mission, uphold the oath of office, behave in a manner that supports the Sheriff's Office Code of Conduct, continually comply with preconditions for original employment, or to display due regard for the civil liberties of any persons will lead to removal with or without fault. In addition, accruing atypical amounts of dysfunctional work time or requiring atypical amounts of supervisory counseling or remedial training will lead to removal with or without fault. (Pursuant to section IX of the rules and regulations)The Florida Retirement System (FRS)
Employee must complete 8 years to become vested. In addition to the FRS Pension Plan, we also have an FRS Investment Plan, in which an employee must complete 1 year to become vested. Employees are required to pay 3% into their FRS retirement regardless of which plan they choose.

Any illegal drug use including marijuana within the last year
Any controlled substance (cocaine, crack, heroin, etc.) use within the last five years
Any hallucinogenic (LSD, PSP, Mushrooms, Ecstasy, etc.) use within the last five years.
Any HGH / Steroid usage within the last year.
Any sales and/or deliveries of any illegal substance in adult life.

- Capture, edit, and produce high-quality video and photography content for internal and external use.
- Transfer and format video content from various sources (including Axon and other platforms) for editing and production.
- Produce live video broadcasts on social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.
- Develop and manage content for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office website.
- Create multimedia content under the direction of the Public Information Officer (PIO).
- Perform post-production editing, including graphic design and audio mixing.
- Serve as a backup to the PIO when necessary.
- This assignment will assist the PIO and will be privy to all information that the PIO has access to.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Education and Training
- Minimum of five years’ experience in videography and editing.
- Proficiency with professional editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Experience producing live and pre-recorded video content.
- Skilled in transferring and editing video from law enforcement systems such as Axon.
- Knowledge of web content management and social media live-streaming practices.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under deadlines.
