Microbiology Laboratory Technician

We are looking for an energetic Microbiology Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for the performance of a variety of analyses related to departmental functions: operate lab equipment according to specifications and accurately report results of work.

** This is a weekend-only position**

Primary Responsibilities:

• Utilizes knowledge and training in basic microbiology and chemical principles and lab practices
• Follow methods, and procedures and perform technical tasks and data review requiring a significant degree of competence, knowledge, skills, and training.
• Develop methods, procedures, and performance technical tasks and data review requiring a significant degree of competence, knowledge, skills and training.
• Utilize hands-on and theoretical knowledge of various analytical instruments for quality control testing.
• Perform general microbiology and other testing.
• Balance work priorities, schedules, projects, instruments, facilities, and documentation while exercising independent judgment.

What to bring:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least two years prior workplace laboratory experience. Industry experience strongly preferred.
• At least one year of microbiology experience.
• Must possess a fundamental understanding of chemical laboratory equipment; understand cGMPs and GLPs; must work safely and efficiently; excellent attention to detail; good verbal and written communication skills; must be computer literate.
• Sense of urgency and can-do attitude
• Physical requirements: Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Good hand dexterity for computer data input and lab equipment operation. Normal vision required to conduct experiments and to prepare and audit documents. Normal range of hearing required to answer phone calls. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds, bend, stoop and twist in order to conduct experiments and process samples.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $26.00 per hour
