Job Summary
Under the direction of the Daybreak Program Manager, the Lead Staff Generalist (Temporary) provides a variety of vocational, educational, recreational, and social rehabilitation services to members participating in the Daybreak Clubhouse Program. In addition to regular staff duties, this position assumes temporary lead responsibilities to ensure program compliance with contractual, documentation, and health and safety requirements. The role supports members in developing skills, increasing independence, and fostering community engagement in alignment with the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation.

Job Summary

In addition to regular staff duties, this position assumes temporary lead responsibilities to ensure program compliance with contractual, documentation, and health and safety requirements. The role supports members in developing skills, increasing independence, and fostering community engagement in alignment with the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation.
Job Duties (*Essential job functions are marked with an asterisk.)
Program Support
- Participates in the development and implementation of individualized rehabilitation plans for all members served through the Daybreak Clubhouse Program.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with ICC staff, other MVCS program staff, and community provider agencies.
- Provides ongoing support to members participating in the Daybreak Clubhouse Program, including those involved in transitional employment placements.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation, including social/recreational activity reports, attendance logs, and other data required by DMH and/or MVCS.
- Organizes and maintains digital files to ensure efficient access and recordkeeping.
- Provides professional and courteous customer service when interacting with members, families, internal departments, MVCS programs, referral sources, and community service providers.
- Assists in the planning, coordination, and facilitation of social/recreational activities, including activities held on weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- Adheres to all agency and departmental policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Provides transportation of members to and from the Clubhouse and to community activities, following Human Services Transportation (HST) requirements and standards.
- Additional Temporary Lead Responsibilities
Contract Compliance
- Maintain compliance with MVCS, State, and Federal contracts and policies, including GATRA, DMH, and MVCS requirements.
- Review Daybreak Clubhouse DMH RFR regulations and contract conditions with the Division Director within one week of assuming the temporary lead role.
- Continue to review the RFR on a consistent basis with the Daybreak team, including documentation of all related training and reviews.
Health and Safety
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations outlined in the Clubhouse RFR.
- Attend and maintain Serve Safe certification.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Serve Safe regulations, including:
- Dating leftovers and frozen food, rotating stock weekly.
- Following Serve Safe practices for cooking, serving, and storing food.
- Maintaining a clean, clutter-free, and hazard-free environment.
- Report and address any safety concerns promptly to ensure a safe space for members and staff
Documentation and Billing Oversight
- Attend training with the Division Director regarding billing and documentation standards.
- Oversee completion and submission of GATRA monthly billing, including daily trip logs, circle checks, and AM/PM vehicle checks for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure DMH billing is completed and submitted monthly, including documentation of attendance, outreach, off-site visits, and member engagement.
- Support staff in maintaining timely and clinically appropriate member documentation, including daily narratives, goal tracking, and HIPAA/PI compliance.
- Review narratives weekly for completeness and ensure member sign-in and sign-out logs are accurate and maintained.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions or in a clubhouse, vocational, or social rehabilitation setting strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable independent transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- CORI/SORI clearance and any other background checks as required by MVCS and regulatory agencies.
- Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive, supportive relationships with members, families, MVCS staff, and DMH staff.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, including maintaining accurate records and digital files.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, with members, and with external service providers.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic proficiency with data entry and electronic recordkeeping.
- Flexibility, creativity, and initiative in planning and facilitating rehabilitative activities and community-based events.
- Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the importance of inclusion, equity, and trauma-informed care.
- Commitment to member empowerment and recovery-oriented service models.
