Position: IWYC Program Director
Program: Island Wide Youth Collaborative (IWYC)
Classification: Exempt - 40 hours per week
Compensation: $73,000 - $88,000
Reports to: Division Director
Job Summary:
Working under the direction of the Division Director, the Program Director is responsible for developing and implementing the IWYC program. The Program Director will provide administrative oversight and supervision to the IWYC team.
Job Duties:
  • Program Development: Assists with the design and planning of the IWYC program to align with MVCS’s mission and goals. This includes identifying needs, setting objectives, and creating a detailed program plan.
  • Implementation: Oversees the execution of the IWYC program, ensuring they are carried out effectively and efficiently. This involves managing resources, timelines, and ensuring all activities meet the planned objectives.
  • Staff Management: Supervises and supports the IWYC program staff and volunteers as applicable. This includes hiring, training, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance to ensure a high level of productivity and morale. Monitors staffing level to ensure they meet all contractual obligations. Works with the Division Director and Human Resources to ensure staffing levels are maintained and completes necessary recruiting steps and hiring process per agency policy in a timely manner. Completes all paperwork related to staff onboarding, allocation reviews and offboarding.
  • Budget Management: Assists the Division Director and Senior Leadership in the development of the IWYC annual budget. Manages the approved program budget including requests for amended program activities and associated budget line items based on the needs of the program. Works with the Division Director and the Contracts Department to ensure state and/or federal contracts and grants are effectively and efficiently managed. This involves allocating resources wisely, monitoring expenses, and ensuring financial accountability and transparency.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Sets key performance indicators (KPI) for approval by the Division Director and regularly assess program progress. Uses data and feedback to make informed decisions and adjustments to improve program outcomes. Is a member of and active participant in the agency’s Quality Management Team.
  • Reporting: Communicates program activities, successes, and challenges to the Division Director, and CEO, board of directors, donors, funder and other stakeholders as required. This includes preparing detailed reports and presentations.
  • Fundraising: Collaborates with the fundraising team on agency initiatives as requested.
  • Compliance: Ensures the IWYC program complies with relevant laws, regulations, and standards. This includes maintaining accurate records and preparing necessary documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Community Engagement: Builds and maintains relationships with community members, government agencies, and other organizations. Promotes MVCS’s mission and programs through outreach and advocacy.
  • Strategic Planning: Provides input into both short and long-term strategic planning for the organization.
  • Crisis Management: Addresses any issues or emergencies that arise within the IWYC program. Develops contingency plans and responds effectively to ensure program stability and continuity.
  • Collaboration: Works closely with other programs and departments within MVCS to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving the agency’s goals. This includes coordinating efforts and sharing resources to maximize impact.
Additional Grant and Contract Responsibilities
  • Meets regularly with funders as outlined in contract requirements
  • Participates in contractual meetings, in-person and virtually to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Independently completes accurate grant and contract reporting in a timely manner
  • Maintains a positive relationship with funders
  • Informs Division Director and MVCS Leadership of all contractual changes and concerns that may impact programming and funding
  • Ensures all contractual requirements are met including data tracking, reporting and supervision of staff and volunteers specific to their contractual roles.
  • Assists with any licensing and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensures program facility is welcoming, well maintained, clean and safe. Works with leadership and maintenance to ensure annual inspections are conducted and resolves any findings in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as non-profit management, social services, or program administration
  • Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience in a program management or leadership role within the non-profit sector
  • Experience with project and budget management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and reliable independent transportation
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required
  • Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize work
