General Description

The Child Care Office Assistant provides administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director.  This position interfaces with all levels of team members throughout the organization as well as outside entities.

 Some everyday duties and responsibilities you’ll do:

• Communicate regularly via phone, email, and in-person with prospective and enrolled families.
• Ensure licensing and other files are kept current, confidential, and secure.
• Maintain Attendance/ children’s schedule records.
• Monitor USDA for compliance and complete daily USDA Counts.
• Perform duties typical to an office environment including but not limited to copying, email/phone/in-person communications, filing and shredding.
• Often serves as Office’s first point of contact for families, vendors, community, and educators and responsible for directing communications/circumstances to appropriate personnel.
• In collaboration with Director and Assistant Director maintain an efficient documentation and filing system.
• Support team by completing assigned tasks and covering routine jobs including answering phone, covering for Admin meetings and general office organization.

 Wage: $21.25/hr. - $24.48/hr. based on applicable experience

• Someone with experience in an office setting preferred.
• Someone with computer proficiency including email, data entry and Microsoft Office. 
• Someone who shares our dedication and compassion to those in our care.
• Someone who has the ability to multitask and prioritize daily priorities
• Understanding of and ability to deal with confidential information with discretion
• Someone who has reliable attendance for scheduled hours and the willingness to be flexible in covering additional hours as needed. 
• Working cooperatively in a team environment. 
• Problem solving and ability to handle unexpected/unpredictable circumstances
• Work positively to find solutions to the problems that are identified within the organization. 
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued at varying rates depending on length of employment. Accrual rates begin at 5.32 hours per month based on a 40-hour workweek. These accruals include the required sick leave per Washington State’s Paid Sick Leave Law
