The Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics of Yucca Valley is seeking a reliable, dependable, conscientious , and experienced dental personal to fill the role of Registered Dental Assistant.
This is a part-time position 24 hours per week
Experience with dental/medical software is necessary, and a requirement. Hands-on experience with Weave and Dentrix is preferred.
Dental assistant must be well-organized and pay great attention to detail. Assistant should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations and policies. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care.

Responsibilities
- Enthusiastically welcome patients in the dental office
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, dental units and chairs according to regulations
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental office clean and well-stocked
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist
- Maintain and assist with day to day office cleaning and disinfection
- Take patient x-rays
- Perform comfortable assisting the dentist with the administration of behavior management techniques such as tell show do, nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and general anesthesia
- Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential (HIPPA).
- Front desk reception tasks such as answering phones, filing, scheduling, checking patients in and out for appointments.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks appropriately
- Continuously reports to work on time and on scheduled days
Skills
- Proven experience as a dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing and impressions
- Ability to take radiographs
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized, RELIABLE and PUNCTUAL
- High school diploma; graduating from registered dental assistant school is preferred
- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. RDA or EFDA)
