What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Services Officer position at Marshfield Medical Center Credit Union?

Join our team as a Member Services Officer and be one of the first points of contact for our members! In this role, you’ll build relationships, help members with their everyday financial needs, and provide accurate, professional service while learning about the products and services that can help members reach their financial goals.
What You Will Do
- Serve as a friendly, professional first point of contact for members in person and over the phone
- Provide prompt, accurate, and personalized service while addressing member questions and finding solutions
- Process a variety of financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash advances, corporate drafts, and gift cards
- Balance daily work and operate cash drawers and TCR machines accurately
- Open, maintain, and close deposit accounts, including checking, savings, club accounts, Share Certificates, HSAs, and IRAs
- Assist members with account services such as debit cards, online banking, bill pay, check orders, stop payments, and account maintenance
- Educate members about credit union products and services and identify opportunities to refer or cross-sell solutions based on their needs
- Maintain a strong understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
- Protect member confidentiality and ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable credit union policies and state and federal regulations
- Work collaboratively with teammates and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience required
- Previous cash handling experience required
- Previous experience working in a financial institution preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Comfortable using computers and office equipment
- Professional, dependable, and member-focused
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
