**Job Summary**
Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Senior Laboratory Assistant Casual- float (SLA) would be responsible for covering SLA duties and phlebotomy at any of the 6 East Market locations. These locations include Merrill, Wausau, Weston, Mosinee, Wittenberg, and Stevens Point, with Weston being the primary location. SLA will be trained in clinic and hospital phlebotomy. Person must be flexible to travel to any site that needs help. Mileage reimbursement and travel time will be paid. Position provides great opportunities to work in different locations, while providing excellent patient care, throughout the East region of Marshfield Clinic Sanford Health. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment. Expected to train and onboard new employees. Candidates with phlebotomy experience are preferred, but willing to train on the job for great candidate. Senior Laboratory Assistant Casual- float will be a part of weekend rotation at Weston.
**Qualifications**
High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
One year of laboratory related experience preferred.
Phlebotomy certification required or registry eligible to take exam within 12 months of hire. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
