What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Lead position at Marshfield Area YMCA, Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the School Age Director, the After School Lead provides direction for the children in the classroom, and implements program curriculum. The After School Lead provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
2. Meets educational and experience qualifications established by Wisconsin DCF 251 Licensing Rules For Group Child Care Centers.
3. At least 18 years of age.
4. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of
5. hire date.
6. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
7. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate
8. program activities.
9. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
5. Establishes and implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
6. Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.
7. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards.
8. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
9. Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA.
10. Maintains program site and equipment.
11. Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
12. Assists with additional youth programming as requested.
13. Performs other duties as assigned during programs.
14. Meets required continuing education requirements.
