In this role, you will be successful if you enjoy analyzing large sets of data to discover pricing/costing/margin discrepancies and make fact-based decisions that drive company profitability. You will also create reports that extract data from several different sources, and you must be able to understand mathematical formulas. You’ll be able to draw conclusions from data analysis and explain it to others in simplified language while ensuring data accuracy and having excellent attention to detail. You will also monitor reports for customer margin erosion and use the proactive research of data to identify cost increases and margin changes. The pricing analyst will create and alter reports to meet or anticipate business changes. And the successful candidate will work effectively with Supply Chain and other ESP departments regarding cost/pricing changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing data
- Communicating the pricing strategies
- Formulating, marketing, and reporting company promotions
- Liaison with the engineering, marketing, and sales teams to formulate pricing strategies for new products
- Ensuring the accuracy of all pricing data
- Developing usable data mining processes (with the help of our IT department) and analyzing the performance of pricing strategies
- Investigating margin creep, negative margin, and low margin items and making recommendations for correction
- 4-year college degree, preferably in finance, engineering, or other business-related field OR in lieu of a degree, 3-5 years’ work experience in product development, marketing, sales, pricing strategy, pricing generalist
- Great communication skills
- Excell spreadsheet proficiency
- Power Bi proficiency
- Other database experience a plus
- Business modeling skills, preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Willingness to travel a couple days per quarter
- Must work well with a variety of internal and external people from CEO to outside customers
- Proficiency in presenting using Power Point and all Microsoft Office programs
