The Graduate Assistant for the Lead Center supports the development and sustainability of student organizations by serving as a key resource for leadership development, organization operations, and use of the campus engagement platform HerdLink. This role provides high-impact support for students and staff to strengthen campus involvement, streamline event planning, and promote a vibrant co-curricular experience.Primary Responsibilities (75%)Reports to the Director of Student Life Assist students and advisors with organization registration, roster updates, and event submissions.Maintain system accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and support co-curricular transcript functionality.Provide support and advising for registered student organizations, especially during the re-registration process.Provide formal and informal training for students and staff on effectively using HerdLink for rosters, event submissions, and co-curricular transcripts. Consult and assist new organizations in receiving recognitionProvide advising for student organizations, including policy education, officer transitions, and leadership development. Consult students and advisors regarding organization management, recruitment, retention, publicity, and program planningAssist with planning organization fairs, leadership workshops, HerdLink trainings, and student involvement campaigns. Present workshops and showcase presentations for New Student Orientations and other recruitment/admissions programs throughout the yearAssist with recognition, communication, and outreach to student organization leaders and advisors.Assist in coordinating the John Marshall Emerging Leaders Institute, including recruiting students, developing curriculum, facilitating seminars and retreats, community service projects, and activities.Co-chair campus-wide student leadership conference committeeHelp assess student involvement data and assist with reports on student engagement.Maintain the accuracy and usability of HerdLink resources and backend settings.Shared Responsibilities (25%)Support Week of Welcome, Student Life promotions/social media, and the department’s annual assessment activities.Serve as a liaison and support resource for Fraternity & Sorority Life, Military & Veteran Services, Community Service, Parent & Family Programs, Club Sports, and Esports.Technology & SystemsPrimary graduate support for HerdLink; must be comfortable troubleshooting and guiding users through processes.Employment Terms20 hours/week at $12/hourTraining and professional development opportunities provided
