Primary ResponsibilitiesServe as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on research projects related to cardiovascular disease, aging, obesity, diabetes and chronic kidney disease.Develop and maintain a robust, independently funded research program in mechanistic, translational, or population-based cardiovascular science.Lead and contribute to NIH R01 and other major grant applications.Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed journals and scientific meetings.Foster collaboration with clinical and basic science faculty across disciplines.Mentor medical residents, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.Pursue and maintain external funding from NIH, AHA, CDC, and other agencies.Engage in limited teaching responsibilities as appropriate.
